Interior Design with At Home DC

If you know me you know that I love interior design and decor. I caught the bug from my mother when I was young. When Amber Harris at At Home DC asked me to photograph some of her recently completed design work I certainly jumped at the chance. She pulled together a lovely palette with great textures and colors.

BEFORE PHOTOS: This family wanted more space in their kitchen for dining and an overall cohesive look on the first floor.

AFTER PHOTOS: Check out that collapsable dining table! It turns into a console table and creates a play space for this family's two busy little boys.

Birthday Cake Time!!!

It's that time of year! The time to make myself a fancy little birthday cake to photograph!

This year has been a little more difficult that past birthdays. I'm 6 weeks post-op after rotator cuff surgery, so this cake was made mainly with my left hand. The past three weeks of physical therapy has been great and my range of motion is getting better everyday. But today was the first time I had picked up a camera in 6 weeks, and my Canon is heavier than I remember.

So I enlisted a little bit of help. Greydon took a few of these photos before running off to the bus stop. He could make a great photographer with the right training and practice. (I think he has a couple roommates who might be able to help him out.)

Here's to another great year!
