PERSONAL PROJECT // LAST DAY OF SEVENTH GRADE

With 2/3rds of middle school compete, Greydon could not be happier. His enthusiasm for school is at the level of TOLERANCE, yet he did very well, stayed out of trouble and made the National Junior Honor Society. He really clicked with math, science and history this year. Still has his sights set on architecture or engineering or major league ball player. I think the former two is more of a possibility, but you never know!

He joined a new baseball team in Urbana called J-Bats, which is 15 minutes down the road. There wasn’t room on the 13U team, so he played up at the 14U level and did quite well. He’s very happy and really likes his teammates and coaches. Playoffs start tonight at 8pm at Blair HS. Be there or be square. ;-)

Status Alert: This summer/fall we will be gutting our den and kitchen. A leak last summer in the kitchen lead to finding asbestos in the three layers of vinyl flooring which lead to the realization that we couldn’t put it off any longer — the kitchen and den will become one and get a down-to-the-studs gut. The dining room is now full of custom cabinets for the foreseeable future. There are bunch more in the living room, but I didn’t show those. It’s going to be intense and we might reach out to a few of you for your expert advice. In the end, we’re here to normalize messy houses. Here’s to you and your messy house!

Trivia Question: Where was Fletcher born? DALLAS! He moved to Philly when he was about three years old, but those first years were spent down south. Anyway, Fletcher returned home late last night from a work trip to Dallas and stopped by Bucees for the first time and brought back a sweet treat for G and me, which I’m saving for later. Little bite of cotton candy first thing in the morning won’t hurt too much will it?

Greydon is in a constant state of repair - scratches, dents, band-aids, bloody knees and elbows, finishing up three very long weeks of healing from a sunburn after our camping trip over Memorial Day weekend. Under a physician’s care, he shouldn’t scar, but went through a very long and painful recovery. He’s up to about 5’5” now, curly brown hair, has the longest legs in the family and passed me in shoe size. No need for braces at this point. Still loves bear hugs.
